Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pay?
We accept payment by cash or bank transfer. Payment is due before or at the start of each lesson. Block booking discounts may be available — just ask your instructor for details.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or move a lesson. Cancellations made with less notice may be charged in full. We understand that emergencies can occur, so please inform your instructor as soon as possible so that they can assist in the best way possible!
How many lessons will I need before I'm ready to test?
This varies from person to person. The DVSA recommends an average of 45 hours of professional tuition, but some learners need more and others less. Your instructor will track your progress and let you know honestly when they feel you’re test-ready.
Do prices include the cost of the practical test?
No, lesson prices do not include the DVSA practical test fee, which is currently £62 on a weekday or £75 on evenings and weekends. You book and pay for this directly with the DVSA. We can guide you through the process when the time comes.
Can I use my instructor's car for the practical test?
Yes! You’re welcome to use your instructor’s car for your practical test, which means you’ll be in a familiar vehicle on test day — great for settling nerves. Please note that the instructor’s time and use of the vehicle on test day will be charged at the standard lesson rate. Just let your instructor know in advance so it can be arranged.
Do you offer lessons for nervous or anxious drivers?
Absolutely. We’re experienced in working with nervous learners and take a patient, encouraging approach. Just let us know when you get in touch and we’ll make sure you feel comfortable and supported from your very first lesson.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Glasgow and cover the surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether we come to your area, just give us a call or send us a message and we’ll let you know.
Do I need to have my provisional licence before starting lessons?
Yes, you must have a valid provisional driving licence before you can take lessons. You can apply for one through the DVLA website — it usually takes around a week to arrive. We’d recommend applying before booking your first lesson.
